Is there a specified ratio of staff to residents
at aged care facilities?

No, but an approved provider of an aged care service is responsible for providing a standard of quality care to its residents. To demonstrate that the service is delivering the appropriate quality of care they must undergo assessment by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency. The Agency will check to ensure that the service provider maintains an adequate number of skilled staff to meet the residents’ needs.
