Does the resident or the service provider pay for “over the counter” medical and pharmaceutical supplies?
Answer
Basic supplies which are not prescribed by a health practitioner for the sole use of a particular resident should be purchased by the service provider for the use of all residents. These items include such things as:
- bandages and dressings;
- laxatives and aperients;
- creams, ointment and skin emollients;
- analgesia;
- urinary alkalizing agents;
- mouthwashes and saline solutions.
